The Preciso is just as it sounds--a fine-tuned grinder with a micro-adjust system that can be dialed like a commercial grinder. This, coupled with a coffee throughput that is 2.4 grams/second, twice as fast as other 40mm conical burr grinders, makes the Preciso exceptional for espresso. In addition to featuring Baratza's popular 40-grind adjustment options, the Preciso adds a second micro-adjustment level that further divides each of the 40 steps into 11 distinct settings. This means you have infinitely more control over your espreso grind.
It doesn't stop there, of course; the Preciso has also gotten high marks from coffee experts as an exceptional grinder for the increasingly popular manual brew methods. The specially designed burrs give a precise grind with minimal fines for a sweet, balanced extraction.
Featuring the quality internal parts and external elements you've come to expect from Baratza, the Preciso is built with an efficient DC motor to keep your beans cool, even during extended grind times, while a combination of electric and gear speed reducers slow the burr to 450 RPM, ensuring a smooth bean feed, and reducing noise, heat and static buildup.

New Conical Burr Set: The new 40 mm conical burrs used in the Preciso grind coffee at over 2.5 times as fast as the Virtuoso (1.8 g/sec to 2.5 g/sec. depending on the particle size.) Also, the particle distribution (especially for drip and press) is very unimodal, meaning there are very few fines in the coffee. This results in a cleaner, brighter, no-silt cup of coffee.
Adjustment: Macro Adjust: Just like the Virtuoso, turn the hopper and with 40 settings you can quickly adjust from fine for espresso to course for French Press.
The New Micro Adjust Allows You To Dial In The Perfect Espresso Grind: A secondary micro adjust lever further divides each of the 40 Macro positions into 11 distinct steps. These steps(10 microns each), enable you to precisely dial in the grind for the perfect shot.
Hands Free Operation: Each Preciso comes with the PortaHolder, which permits hands free grinding into the Espresso portafilter. The regular 5 oz grounds bin is also included.

Pulse Button and 60 Second Timers: Front mounted pulse button makes it easy to grind directly into an espresso filter basket. 60 second adjustable timer can be easily set for repeatable grind times.
Calibration System: An innovative burr calibration system ensures that each grinder has the full range of grind; fine enough for any espresso machine and coarse enough for French Press.
DC Motor: A powerful DC motor turns slowly resulting in cool, quiet operation and permits extended grinding time. The circuitry is equipped with an automatically resetting thermal cut-off switch.
