Peter Pesce, president of Oakville-based Reunion Island Coffee, is one of Canada’s best-known authorities on all things coffee. He has developed blends for many major Canadian coffee retailers, and has served as Chairman of the Coffee Association of Canada. He has appeared in numerous TV, radio and print stories, including CBC’s Marketplace and the Toronto Star.
Peter was one of the first in the industry to start importing specialty coffees that helped to revolutionize the Canadian coffee market. Importing high quality coffees and putting them through frequent rigorous taste tests became his forte and developed his reputation in the industry.
To Peter, a good coffee is "a matter of taste … but one must start with premium quality high grown coffees that are roasted under strict quality assurance procedures."
Today, Peter is one of Canada’s most trusted sources for reliable information on coffee and the billion-dollar industry that surrounds it.
Adam Pesce is continuing the family tradition and quickly earning a reputation within the specialty coffee industry. Through his travels to origin countries and studies in Political Science, Adam has a particular interest in growing our sustainability programs. He has worked to increase our Fair Trade and Organic coffee selections, along with helping more of our farming partners to become Rainforest Alliance certified. Adam has also spear-headed our Las Hermosas project in Colombia. Adam's recent appointment to serve on the Specialty Coffee Association of America's Sustainability Committee provides additional opportunities for us to support sustainability projects within the industry.
Adam is also a popular media contact and has also made a number of television appearances, including a recent segment on CBC’s The Gill Deacon show. He also runs a series of free specialty coffee seminars, hosted at our roasting facility or at one of the local coffeehouses that we supply.
