Details
This country's Oromia Coffee Farmers Co-operative Union harvests the best quality Fair Trade and organic certified coffee that we have yet to discover. We are pleased to support this organization that is producing both world-class coffee and dramatic social change.

The Oromia co-operative is celebrated around the globe as a model of successful sustainable coffee farming. It was recently featured in the highly acclaimed 2006 documentary Black Gold. This is the story of Tadesse Meskela, manager of the Oromia co-operative, and his mission to save 74,000 struggling coffee farmers from bankruptcy. For more information, please visit blackgoldmovie.com.

Revenues generated by the Oromia co-operative are used to ensure food security for its members and to purchase and repair processing equipment. Oromia members are dedicated to promoting environmental stewardship and social justice in their communities. Women hold prominent positions throughout the organization and all of Oromia's award-winning coffee are produced according to the principles of organic farming.

We roasted Ethiopia Oromia to a medium color to develop its pleasant sweetness and blueberry notes.

Perfect Balance May 11, 2012
Reviewer: Linda Allbright from Orillia, ON Canada
This is the most incredibly well balanced coffee!  I agree with another reviewer that I thought the Brazil Bahiai Blue was excellent but I have to say this coffee surpasses it. It's perfectly balanced in every way.  A real treat to drink.

I really look forward to this cup of coffee April 17, 2012
Reviewer: Robyn Hill from Vancouver, BC Canada
I thought I had finally discovered and chosen my favorite coffee from Reunion. I thought it was the Brazil Bahia Blue. This Ethiopia Oromia seriously rivals the Brazil, I'm torn. This coffee is a perfect medium roast. It has a lovely toasty flavor without a hint of bitterness. I usually use a drip coffee maker but on a whim, I used a french press with this bean and it was spectacular!!!

Nothing like organic cofffee March 23, 2012
Reviewer: E.K. from Mississauga, ON Canada
I am officially off coffee shops...
This coffee delicious... I made it for a long drive the other day and my second cup was purchased froma  commercial coffee shop.
The almost immedicate taste comparison confirmed for me what I already suspected... the major chains have nothing on this coffee.
