| Reunion Island is proud to be a vocal supporter of Rainforest Alliance Certified™ coffee farming. Over the past five years, we have had the opportunity to visit many certified farms and have been consistently impressed with the tangible benefits that farmers gain by following Rainforest Alliance certification standards.
While we support other programs, the Rainforest Alliance is our primary sustainability certification partner. Rainforest Alliance standards encompass a broad range of social and environmental requirements that bring short and long term benefits to farmers and their communities.
We have observed firsthand that when farmers adhere to Rainforest Alliance certification principles, they yield both higher quality and quantity in their harvests. These crop improvements benefit both farmers in origin countries and consumers in importing countries: farming communities enjoy an improved standard of living and specialty coffee consumers have better access to high quality beans. This is a sustainable model that we are proud to support.
