In 1989 David Robinson, son of baseball great Jackie Robinson, together with his family planted 30,000 coffee seedlings on their farm in Tanzania. Thus began the story of Sweet Unity Farms.

Tanzania’s Sweet Unity Farms Coffee is grown exclusively by cooperatives of small-scale family owned coffee farms. The coffee is 100% Arabica, high mountain grown and produced in Direct Trade relationships with North American roasters like Reunion Island Coffee.

These direct trade relationships result in farmers and their communities receiving more money for their coffee crop. This money is used to enhance the quality of life by funding solar electricity, water, education and other projects.

I'm not usually a fan of dark roasts, but with the My Cafe, I've been appreciating them more. This one in particular.
Like most french roasts, it's dark and a bit smoky. But it's not overbearing, not bitter, and there's some other notes there that keep things interesting. Definitely a bit of chocolate, and something else a tiny bit fruity.
